MSG in the Community

The Madison Square Garden family, which includes the New York Rangers, Knicks and Liberty teams as well as MSG Networks and Madison Square Garden Entertainment, has a long history of supporting good causes through a wide array of events and programs and takes great pride in its charitable outreach.

In January, 1998, in an effort to consolidate the vast resources of the Madison Square Garden family, the Cheering for Children Foundation was established. Since 1999, Cheering for Children has directed millions of dollars in resources to New York City’s after-school programs, impacting thousands of young lives. Over the past two years, the Foundation also built ten bright and fun playgrounds in neighborhoods that desperately needed them.

This fall, the Foundation will fulfill its mission of helping children in the tri-state area with a new, expanded focus to have an even greater impact. Under a new name, "Garden of Dreams,” the Foundation is committed to helping children in crisis, whether they are suffering from devastating illness, homelessness, abuse, hunger, extreme poverty, or tragedy. Garden of Dreams will work closely with all areas of Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall to build meaningful, unforgettable programs for children affiliated with local children’s hospitals, "wish” organizations and community based organizations serving children facing enormous obstacles.

Madison Square Garden and Garden of Dreams are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and will work tirelessly to brighten the lives of children in crisis and help make dreams come true. In addition, Madison Square Garden divisions and athletes continue to support many charities across the region and make it a priority to give back to those in need in the tri-state area, through appearances, fundraising and exposure for local charities.
