Local Media > News 12 Networks
Known for its comprehensive coverage, News 12 Networks is the local-news leader in the tri-state communities it serves. The award-winning news service delivers information on everything from government, education and the environment to traffic and weather, making it viewers' first choice for local news, according to Nielsen surveys.
Cablevision and Rainbow Media (now known as AMC Networks Inc.) pioneered the concept of full-time local news coverage in 1986 with the launch of News 12 Long Island, the country's first 24-hour local television news channel. Over the years, News 12 Networks has expanded to include seven News 12 television channels that provide local news coverage for the Bronx, Brooklyn, Connecticut, the Hudson Valley, New Jersey and Westchester areas. The News 12 networks also include five local 24-hour traffic and weather channels that provide alternating and continually updated traffic and weather reports for the areas of Long Island, Hudson Valley, New Jersey, Connecticut and New York City.
News 12 Networks incorporates interactive technologies into its newsgathering and dissemination, and offers viewers a range of information options through its News 12 Interactive channel (612 on iO TV), its website, News12.com, and its mobile application, News 12 to Go.
